Russian pottery - The Gossips

Russian 'Gossips' pottery figures

This piece of Russian pottery is called ‘The Gossips’.  When I was quite young, Dad would always bring me back a piece of pottery from the Russian shop in Holburn, when he visited London.

I love these two women – hands on hips, putting the world to rights!

I’m sure it does us good to find the time to natter and have a gossip to our friends. Mull over who’s doing what and catch up with news of other friends and family. Inspired by some of my other other Russian matryoshka or babushka dolls, I have designed these cosy cushions.

They’re just a perfect present for a good friend!

Have a look at the gallery on my website to see their hand-felted faces and tiny button & lace details.

I’m off to phone a friend and catch up on some news …
