Much growling …

Long shadows, gentle sunshine breaking through the high grey cloud and so peaceful it was, in the New Forest last weekend …
Until …
Here come the girls …
I’ve always said that if we decided to name our house, we’d have to call it ‘Much Growling’! The girls are fairly vocal, rarely more-so than when they share a stick in the New Forest. Quite often they face opposite directions and become a huge revolving, growling, black and white machine which whizzes around at knee height, oblivious to observing humans! More than once I’ve been felled!
Many years ago when we were going to move house, I decided that our new home would be called ‘The Pile of Ironing’! When turning out the spare room in preparation for our move, (before we had children that filled all our spare rooms), I discovered a vintage pile of ironing stashed under the bed! I dimly recalled madly dashing from room to room in preparation for a mother-in-law visit, tidying and bundling everything out of sight, probably over a year before!
I’m feeling as though I’m in the calm before the storm – there’s a lot to organise at the moment and no sign of Christmas arriving at Much Growling, other than in the sewing studio where Christmas stockings are lining up like soldiers in the ranks!
Back to my sewing then and I feel a list coming on! It’s going to be a long one!
