Clean lines, pastel colours, little brass feet, a drawer – just perfect for keeping needles & crochet hooks & patterns and a drop-down cabinet for a neat stash of wools. I’ve been saving the stags head paper for a special project, and this was definitely IT. My new favourite book is 100 Snowflakes to Crochet – I’ve made some bunting, but that’s for another photoshoot!
Ever since the April photo on Ideal Homes calendar, I have longed for a retro chair, painted in pastels. I found one last week and couldn’t wait to start the transformation from pale pine – it had to be pink!

Painting furniture definitely comes into the category of ‘taking it easy’. I’m still under instructions to relax more and I must admit that I hadn’t realised how wound-up I’d become. Life has taken on an easy pace: no deadlines, no pressure. The garden is slowly taking shape again. I’m enjoying many cuppas in the dappled shade of the soon-to-blossom apple trees, accompanied by my little quacky companion and a collie at my feet.
What shall I paint today?
Enjoy the sunshine and take it easy!

Gosh, you wouldn’t think it was the same cabinet. Well done you !!! I love the crochet snow flakes. I just wish I could follow a crochet patten.
That’s why I always do granny squares as I know the patten off by heart… xx

I have to say, I love the “composition” of your Chair and Bunny Pics… And, lovely job on the Painting!

I love that saying – it’s certainly true here at the moment. If it’s wood, definitely paint it!
