Pincushions galore …

I tend to get into a groove when I’m creating. I have an idea in my head and after a few trial runs, I have a week or two when I’m in the groove and can’t stop making. Over the past few weeks, it’s been pincushions …
They’re lovely to make and I can sit in the garden or whilst sharing the sofa in the evening with Belle and happily gather up and stuff the little pincushions. I jaunted down to Wales to see my old Dad over the weekend – our boys came with me, which was lovely for everyone. I had some time during the mornings to myself, as all the boys like a long lie-in! Thrift shops were scoured and at an amazing eco shack, I found a set of 3 art deco coffee cups with accompanying pot. Unfortunately the glaze is a little crazed and the coffee pot lid badly damaged, so I had no hesitation about ‘refurbishing’ the cups and turning the pot into a wonderful vase – perfect for summer roses, in my studio. I can’t part with this one though – isn’t it sweet?
I brought back a whole box full of eggcups – Mum used to collect them and they were an eye-catching, dust-collecting display for many years. I don’t think I can keep them all, but will choose one each for the children and a few favourites for myself. If my current craze continues, some may end up as pincushions!
We’re all out of puff here at the moment – the grass has just been cut as there’s rain in the forecast for the next few days. Not that it matters – rainy days mean there’s a really good excuse to take it easy and possibly make a few pincushions!
Enjoy the rest of your week.

Gorgeous pincushions, especially the pimpernel one.

Thank you – I’ve just another couple of those. There are 3 of them and the tiny orange flowers are beautifully handpainted.
