School’s out …

forever!!!!!
The end of term was on Tuesday and I finally feel as though I’ve finished. I’ve had some lovely cards and presents but it takes a special sort of friend to fill a box with goodies that she’ll know I’ll absolutely LOVE …
- a bundle of adorable fabrics too – there were more, but they’re already patchworked into cushions
Thank you SO much, *T* – I’ve been so lucky to work with you. Enjoy your summer too.
It’s been blistering hot, here in Winchester over the last few days. I’ve even had to set up a temporary daytime sewing pitch out on the patio, under the cover of a very large parasol …
I’ve been enjoying all the roses, marguerites and my geraniums – poor sickly little plug plants, bought for a few discounted pennies a few months ago – have suddenly taken off and burst into huge blooms …
I finished another quilt yesterday. I’ve called it Sugar Pips although many of you quilters out there will recognise the Sherbert Pips fabric – I chose the pinks and greys and whites and have used a vivid, fuschia pink fleece as the backing – bit too cosy for this weather, but it’ll soon be chilly again and we’ll need to get all homespun and warm again. But in the meantime – here’s Sugar …
It’s a pincushion-making day today, ready for the Art & Design Market in Winchester on Sunday. If you’re visiting Hampshire, then pop in and say Hello – town will be busy and parking is free, and there are SO many places to find some refreshments.
Hope to see you there

It must have been a very emotional final day at teaching. You’ve certainly received some gorgeous leaving presents from colleague who thought a lot of you.
Sewing in the garden, especially one as pretty as yours. Pure bliss !!!! xx

Congratulations to you! What lovely gifts — I’m totally jealous of that thread organizer, hehe. And your quilt is so lovely! I really want to learn to do that.

Quilting is SO satisfying. Are you in Hampshire? I’m teaching at workshops in the Autumn.

Thanks for popping by – I’m hoping the sunshine returns later on this week so I can take my quilting outside again.
