Topsy Turvy Spring …

April’s arrived in May, with a blast of heavy showers, high winds and chilly evenings. Just a month ago, it was incredibly sunny and warm – I was even sewing in the garden! I’m not complaining – the garden was so dry and I feared for my newly sown grass. Here are some catch-up photos of the garden, wonderful wisteria, Dorset cottage gems and last week’s mooch around the glorious bluebell woods here in Hampshire …
and yesterday, in Alton’s Makers’ Market …
Back soon …

ah-ha! THAT’s what Those are! — The last time I was in the U.K – [’77!!] – I was visiting with friends going to college in Canterbury… One afternoon we cut across some wood between the campus and town and I remember the ground being covered with blue/purple delicate flowers… Your pic is almost exactly as I remember the trees and lighting!

The bluebell woods are famous and right on our doorstep – we’re so lucky. The colour of those millions of tiny bells is astounding – as is their perfume on a warm afternoon. Lovely to hear from you, thanks for dropping by … Ax

OMG – those bluebell woods – what a dream! Here it is so hot – in the upper 80’s. It went from cold to crazy heat. Everything is bursting. Amazing. Hope we get some rain soon. XO

I planted sunflowers yesterday – inspired by yours! Not a whole meadow, but a packet of seeds. I’ve found some English bluebells in my garden here too – bluebells and mistletoe – it must be magic!
