Daisy, Daisy …

I’ve finished 2 quilts this week – Daisy was inspired by a Liberty print I treated myself to a week or so ago whilst visiting London. I journeyed on the train and had a wonderful day – met J2 for lunch then went shopping (think fabrics & yarn, Berwick Street and Liberty’s plus a jaunt down Carnaby Street) – then a quick supper with daughter C when she finished work before trekking up to the Royal Albert Hall for the ClassicFM Live concert.
I so enjoyed it – amazing musicians and altogether an unforgettable day and a not-to-be forgotten display of flowers outside Liberty’s …
My seat in the front row had 2 bags full of fabric & yarn stuffed underneath it and I always try to have some beautiful blooms on my kitchen table these days …
So here’s the quilt called Daisy and that exquisite Liberty print …
My jaunt to Carnaby Street meant that I could visit one of my favourite shops – Pylones – home came Fairy (a washing-up liquid fairy) who lives by the kitchen sink and Demelsa (a hugely amusing cheese grater) who lives just along the worktop by the cooking utensils …
In other kitchen news (I’m still waiting for a full kitchen Ta-Dah but the decorator won’t be here till next month) so it’ll have to wait, but look what I found in a local charity shop …
How could I resist her? Isn’t she wonderful – retro kitsch foxy face.
Back to quilts and the 2nd one that’s been finished …
It spoke of New England colours, stars and stripes so I added a vivid scarlet starry border and called it
Star Spangled Banner!
Now Spring is definitely here and the garden is springing into life quite literally. Yesterday, in warm sunshine I marched up and down the garden behind the lawn mower hopefully working off a few calories in the process. I’m so pleased with the result – as seen from my studio today, in the rain!
What do you have planned for the weekend? Enjoy yourselves whatever the weather.

PPS – I almost forgot to show you … the bluebells are in bloom – it MUST be SPRING!
you can’t imagine how magical it is to step amongst thousands of bells – and the scent on a sunny morning is indescribable.
Oh – those bluebells. So beautiful. Love the new quilts. That Liberty print is so pretty. And – I have one of those cute little girl cheese graters! Have a great weekend.

You inspired me to inhale deeply, and sigh… fully expecting to catch the scent of roses and bluebells, and happy to have enjoyed this post.

I stood in the bluebell woods again this morning – inhaling deeply! It’s the most magical scent in the world. I must take more photos of them.
