Yes, the Jane Austen’s House Museum at Chawton in Hampshire is stocking my Patchwork Quilt Kits! I’ve been working on 3 designs for the quilts and they all have a theme related to Jane’s life in Hampshire so I’ve called them:
Walk in the Park
Walk in the Woods
Walk in the Garden
As well as the Quilt Kits, I’ve also been busy stitching up sample quilts, made to my own pattern, for each one.
The quilts will be displayed in the Museum’s shop, where the kits will also be for sale.
When I visited the Jane Austen’s House Museum earlier in the year, I saw the patchwork quilt top that she and her mother had hand-stitched. From a distance the patchwork diamonds appeared to be set on-point between plain fabric, but on closer examination the stashing is in fact a subtle polka dot. So I’ve included polka dots in all my quilt kits.
The kits are ideal for beginners and may be hand or machine stitched. There’s a comprehensive 12-page instruction booklet with Design Grid and many helpful tips and hints included. What a wonderful momento of a visit to the Museum.
Similar kits are also available from me direct – please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
All packed up and ready to go!
As I will be later on today – two fairs in two days this weekend – that’s a first!
Saturday is the Downton Cuckoo Fair near Salisbury and on Sunday it’s up to Putney again for the Art & Design Market that runs from 12 – 6.
Do stop by and say Hello if you’re at either venue this weekend. There’ll be lots of quilts, cushions, pincushions and quilt kits to choose from!
Have a lovely weekend
Linking up with Finish it up Friday – do leave a comment if you’ve popped in – I love reading them all.
