Fibre Art Workshop

Fibre Art  ::  10.30 am – 3 pm

Before the workshop –
Pop over to Adaliza’s Fibre Art Pinterest Board so you’re inspired and ready to sew on the day.  Start saving all your offcuts, however small – selvedge edges, tiny scraps and threads, they can all be used.

If you are bringing your own sewing machine, check that you can lower the feed dogs and that you have an open embroidery foot. Email Adaliza if you’re not sure.

Please let Adaliza know if you would like to use a studio sewing machine.
Tea/coffee and cake/cookies will be available.
Please note that toilet facilities are located in a separate building accessible only via steps.

On the day –
Arrival from 10.15 am so that you can set up your own sewing machine or get to know the studio machine that you will be using. Bring any coloured cottons & threads that you have – the more the better!  Also your own sewing notions – scissors, thimble, rotary cutter, unpicker and anything else that you like to use when sewing.

  • Introduction – about fibre art – techniques & colours
  • Create your picture and use magic supplies shipped from the US to hold your picture in place while you stitch.
  • A whole lot of stitching is needed and then your picture will be given a bath – that’s when the magic really happens!
  •  Adaliza will give you lots of individual help and advice along the way.
