it’s a quilt – for cowboys!

The colours remind me of prairie cowboys and the focus fabric has bucking broncos galloping across the western plains, lassos whirling!  It’s a perfect single bed quilt for a little boy who dreams of becoming a cowboy when he’s grown up – and this is a ‘college’ style quilt that could easily be taken off to university, as a reminder of home comforts.

I’ll be taking this quilt with me to Alton Makers’ Market tomorrow and some cheeky little foxes will be coming too …

I’m really enjoying getting out and about at the weekends, though I didn’t have far to go last Sunday as the Antiques Vintage & Retro market made it’s monthly appearance on Winchester’s High Street.  It was a beautiful day, with just a hint of warmth in the Spring sunshine.

Adaliza’s Quilt Store is now up and running on Folksy

Yippee!

The quilts will be listed for just a few weeks, before they’re taken out of the online shop and onto my market stall in Winchester or Alton.  I aim to list different quilts each month.

Do pop over to the shop and let me know what you think.  I love to read your comments and am constantly amazed by the number of people who pop by – from countries all over the world.  Do say ‘Hello’!

Quilts – January 2014

January's quilts

January’s quilts

January was dismal, weatherwise.  I did a lot of quilting whilst listening to weather reports, flood warnings and hearing stories about the dreadful flooding just a county or so to the west of us.  February has started in a similar vein with gales and storms crashing through every couple of days or so.  One day in every 4 or 5 seems to be calmer with sunny spells – yesterday was just such a day.  I nipped outside with my camera, accompanied by my garden companion – Flora Puddleduck!

Flora was very impressed by the stack of quilts and I fancy, she would rather like to have one of her own, in her little house.  “No such luck Flora – your nest is lovely and warm with meadow hay and a deep bed of shavings!”

That’s all for the moment.  The others are over here if you’d like to see all of them, but there are some pressing matters to deal with atm – another storm is howling outside and there have been a few crashes whilst I’ve been tapping away.  Time to go and investigate …

Good luck in the midst of all these storms.

Summer and stuff …

Our long, lazy, hazy summer days have drifted between activity and relaxation in an easy mix.  Dolly has been jaunting, I have been quilting and quilting and quilting.

Here are a few delights from recent weeks …
