it’s a quilt – for cowboys!

The colours remind me of prairie cowboys and the focus fabric has bucking broncos galloping across the western plains, lassos whirling!  It’s a perfect single bed quilt for a little boy who dreams of becoming a cowboy when he’s grown up – and this is a ‘college’ style quilt that could easily be taken off to university, as a reminder of home comforts.

I’ll be taking this quilt with me to Alton Makers’ Market tomorrow and some cheeky little foxes will be coming too …

Little Foxes patchwork quilt

I’m really enjoying getting out and about at the weekends, though I didn’t have far to go last Sunday as the Antiques Vintage & Retro market made it’s monthly appearance on Winchester’s High Street.  It was a beautiful day, with just a hint of warmth in the Spring sunshine.

In the garden, colour is beginning to appear in the Spring bulbs …

down by the pond, the snowdrops have disappeared, the daffs are in full bloom alongside the later flowering and taller ‘Snowflake’ snowdrops – and the bluebells are almost out

Whimsical Woodland – a finished quilt

A very special Ta-Dah moment and a walk in the woods …

1

Deep in a magical woodland, secretive creatures play beneath the branches, treading carefully to avoid the tiny flowers that bloom on the woodland floor.

4

Autumn hues glow amidst the blues and browns.
The very top of the leaf canopy catches the bright sunshine – vibrant green.

7

How many creatures can you see?
Foxes, hares, bunnies, birdies, squirrels and butterflies.
Tiny bird houses hang in the trees, laden with apples.

9

Magical paths wind between the blocks – free motion quilting – adding to the texture of the forest floor.

I’ve absolutely loved designing and creating this quilt – a commission for a little person who’s about to enter this world amidst the Autumn leaves.

So many thanks to new friends and visitors who have popped by over recent weeks from Crazy Mom’s Finish it up Friday.  I’ve so enjoyed visiting other sites and will try to leave more comments this week. I’m also linking up to Quilt Matters for TGIFF and there are some awesome quilts over there too.

It’s busy here at the moment – building works at home and never a dull moment!

I have a feeling it will be quite a few more Fridays before this project is finished up!!!

Thanks for popping by – do please leave a comment if you’re online and if you’re in Alton for the Makers’ Market tomorrow, then please say Hello.

Have a great weekend.

Summer is drifting quietly away with the warm sunshine all too frequently giving way to clouds and rain. Evenings are decidedly chilly and it’s time to snuggle up!
